Printing with AirPrint

Overview

AirPrint allows you to wirelessly print directly from your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, Mac and other AirPrint compatible Apple devices on the same network.
There's no software to download, no drivers to install and no cables to connect. Just click to print whenever your Apple mobile device is connected to the same network as your compatible printer.

Before using AirPrint:
To use AirPrint, you must connect your printer to network.
Connect your Brother printer to network if it is not connected.

Printing from Apple Devices (iPad, iPhone, or iPod touch)

  1. 1. Make sure that the printer is connected to an iPad, iPhone, or iPod touch through ad-hoc mode, Wireless Direct, or infrastructure mode.
  2. 2. Open a photo or PDF page to print.
  3. 3. Tap the action icon (to insert a figure).
  4. 4. Tap Print.
  5. 5. Select the printer.
  6. 6. Select and change any desired printer options.
  7. 7. Tap Print.

Printing from Mac (OS X v10.8 or Later)

You must add the printer to your Mac's printer list before you can print.

  1. a. Select System Preferences from the Apple Menu.
  2. b. Click Print & Scan or Printers & Scanners.
  3. c. Click the + icon below the Printers pane on the left.
  4. d. Click Add Printer or Scanner. The Add screen appears.
  5. e. Select your printer, and then select AirPrint from the Use pop-up menu.
  6. f. Click Add.
  1. 1. Make sure that your printer is turned on connected to the desired device through ad-hoc mode, Wireless Direct, a Wi-Fi network, or a USB cable.
  2. 2. Open the page you want to print.
  3. 3. Click the File menu, and then select Print.
  4. 4. Make sure your printer is selected.
  5. 5. Select any available options, such as the number of paged to print. (Options vary depending on the printer.)
  6. 6. Click Print.
